Antique Handmade Christening Gown w/ Lace & Floral Embroidery (RF811)

Description

Very beautiful antique handmade christening gown! This piece consists of two pieces. There is the main gown and then a slip underneath. The gown and slip are a lightweight, airy cotton. The gown features handmade lace trim along the neckline, wrists and base. The neckline also features a lovely floral embroidery. This embroidered area was damage at one point. It has been skillfully patched and repaired. Please see pictures. The back of the gown ties closed with lovely satin ribbons. There is a yellowed stain on the front of the gown, shown in pictures. A proper spot treatment and gentle soak may remove this. I have not tried. There are about 10 small pinhead size holes in various places throughout. I have shown an example in pictures. These are very small. Measurements for the gown are as follows:
Shoulder width: 10"
Chest width (armpit to armpit): 11"

The slip underneath is also handmade. It is sleeveless and features a lovely floral embroidered ruffle along the bottom with handmade lace trim. There are a couple of small stains - one near the neckline, on the shoulder, and beneath one of the armpits. It closes in the back with buttons. Measurements are as follows:

Chest width (armpit to armpit): 11"
Total length:33"
