Gorgeous 4 Piece Antique 1800s Christening Gown Wool Flannel Pls Read. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Gorgeous 4 piece set. Hand embroidered. The 2 dresses, it a dress and a slip are entirely handstitched. The coat is machine stitched. The buttonholes are all done by hand and so is the embroidery. There are a few holes in places. I will very happily send more pics as requested... couldn't fit them all in. Last picture show the color, which is a light beige, but could be from discoloring.
Fabric is NOT rotting. Very thin material, has sheen like rice linen but moves like cotton. The lining in the coat has been redone and is polyester....maybe in the 1950s or so... there's a small remnant of the original silk lining underneath the sleeve cuffs.
Gorgeous lace!! Has some holes but not bad. Embroidery is done, I believe with button twist thread...has a sheen, maybe silk?
